Kevin Pietersen Opts out of IPL Auction 2017 –Former England batsman, Kevin Pietersen has opted out of IPL 2017. On Friday (Feb 3), Kevin Pietersen confirmed that he will not take part in the upcoming season of IPL. Due to busy winter schedule in Australia, KP has pulled out his name ahead of IPL Auction 2017. Kevin Pietersen also confirmed that he would prefer spending time with his family instead of IPL. KP previously has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils, Deccan Chargers & Rising Pune Supergiants.
In a tweet, the former England international cited a ‘busy’ calendar for choosing to stay home this summer.

KP represented RPS in IPL 9 but had to end the season mid-way due to a calf injury. In his 4 innings, KP managed to score 73 at an average of 37. His strike rate was also below par at 119.67. KP was left by Dhoni led RPS on December 18, when IPL 2017 Released and Retained player list was announced.
The IPL 2017 auction which was scheduled for 4th Feb has been postponed due to some unavoidable reasons. Now sources have indicated the IPL 2017 Auction to take place somewhere in the 3rd week of February. But BCCI has confirmed that the IPL 10 will start on scheduled date itself.
